Als ich schon mehrere Stunden an diesem Bild gearbeitet hatte, kam mir der Titel in den Sinn: All about Eve. So heißt ein Film aus dem Jahre 1950 mit Bette Davis.
Es ist das erste Bild aus einer Reihe von bisher vier Bildern, die alle den gemeinsamen Titel Social Geometry tragen.
In diesem Bild geht es um Rollen und Masken – und um die kleinen Geheimnisse, die wir brauchen, um etwas zu erreichen.
In meinem Bild begegnen sich Figuren, die einander beobachten, testen, herausfordern.
Zwischen ihnen entsteht ein Geflecht aus Nähe und Kalkül, Offenheit und Verschleierung.

🇬🇧 Social Geometry I – All about Eve
After I had already been working on this painting for several hours, the title came to mind: All About Eve. That is the title of a 1950 film starring Bette Davis.
It is the first painting in a series of four works to date, all of which share the overarching title Social Geometry.
This painting deals with roles and masks – and with the small secrets we rely on to achieve something.
In my painting, figures meet each other with observation, tension, and subtle negotiation.
A field of proximity and calculation, openness and concealment.
