"Was man nicht sieht" ist mein erstes Bild für das neue Jahr – entstanden im vergangenen.
Die erste Fassung habe ich wie im Rausch gemalt, getragen von einer großen Euphorie. Danach kam die Unsicherheit. Ich wusste lange nicht, ob und wie dieses Bild zu mir passt.
Was mich rückblickend erstaunt, ist das, was aus meinem Inneren den Weg auf die Leinwand gefunden hat, ohne dass ich es bewusst geplant oder benennen konnte. Das Bild stand für sich – und ich zunächst auf Distanz zu ihm.
Erst viel später, mit emotionalem Abstand, habe ich den Zugang wiedergefunden. Schritt für Schritt, ohne Eile, konnte ich weiterarbeiten, klären, präzisieren. Nicht, um das Bild zu verändern, sondern um ihm gerecht zu werden.
So ist diese Arbeit allmählich zu dem geworden, was sie heute ist.

🇬🇧 What You Don't See

"What You Don’t See" is my first painting for the new year – created in the previous one.
The first version was painted almost in a rush, driven by a strong sense of euphoria. Afterwards, uncertainty set in. For a long time, I wasn’t sure if – or how – this work belonged to me.
Looking back, what surprises me is what found its way from my inner world onto the canvas without being planned or named. The painting stood on its own – and I initially kept my distance from it.
Only much later, with emotional distance, did I find my way back to it. Step by step, without haste, I was able to continue working, to clarify and refine. Not to change the painting, but to do it justice.
This is how the work gradually became what it is today.
